Accelerating Patient Admissions

At Erie County Medical Center, a leading healthcare provider in Buffalo, New York, that has 550 inpatient beds and 156 skilled nursing home beds, the Access PFS suite enables clinical and administrative staff to manage patient forms electronically. This forms automation eliminates the delays and costs of manual processing. After a successful roll out in admissions, ECMC extended the reach of PFS to numerous areas across the facility, including the emergency department, gastrointestinal unit, immuno clinic and vascular lab.

Access has also contributed in ECMC’s ability to implement other patient safety measures such as Bedside Medication Verification (BMV). This allows to cross-check patient medications with Access e-Forms-produced patient wristbands using third party bar-code scanning technologies.
