Enhance Patient Care & Safety and Eliminate the Costs of Paper Forms

Your facility’s clinical staff have a common goal: to provide the best care and service to patients. They are often impeded by paper forms, which are often inaccessible, incomplete or outdated. Managing hard copies of forms involves time-consuming tasks that take nurses away from patients and delay care delivery. Then there’s the financial and environmental costs of managing these forms. Access solutions enable your clinical team to bypass these obstacles to efficiency, and to provide timely and efficient care and service.

With the Access Intelligent Forms Suite (IFS) solution, forms can be printed on demand at any nursing station with patient demographics and barcodes affixed for rapid completion and auto-indexing into the document imaging or enterprise content/document management system. With Access Logical Ink (ALI) they can also be pulled up on a tablet PC to quickly complete questionnaires or progress notes on the fly or to obtain bedside consents, and then ported directly into the electronic health record (EHR).

At the point of registration at your clinics’ front desks, Access IFS outputs barcoded wristbands, which are used to ensure positive patient ID on clinical floors. An advanced Access solution also enables clinical staff to print barcoded medication and specimen labels that further safeguard patient safety.

Access Universal Document Portal (UDP) captures output perinatal, ambulatory and other clinical systems and clinical monitor output (such as EKG and fetal monitors), presents it in a standardized manner and and assimilates it into patient records for easy review throughout the hospital. During HIS downtime or a natural disaster, clinical staff can still access the forms they need to continue providing optimal care.

Benefits of using Access EFM in clinical departments include:

  • Enhance patient care, safety and satisfaction
  • Eliminate the financial, productivity and environmental costs of paper forms
  • Bridge the gaps between your clinical, health information and ECM/EDM systems
  • Advance your EHR, disaster planning and patient safety initiatives
  • Give nurses and physicians more time with patients
  • Support compliance by protecting patient privacy and eliminating version control issues

“Over 80 percent of all forms – including physician orders, progress notes and nurses notes – are coming from EFR. The Access system is helping us ensure that clinical staff members always have the most current forms available to them.”
