I look forward to HIMSS every year, but this year was special. Usually, I get to see old friends, visit with our customers that we’ve grown close with over the years, and get a picture of what various tech vendors are pitching right now. And because we are a virtual company, it is one of the few times each year that a big part of our Access team is all together in one place. It’s a great opportunity to re-energize for the year ahead!

With the rollout of our new integrated Epic solutions for OpTime and Radiant, we met many new friends from the Epic customer base of hospitals. At HIMSS, we always learn new ideas and new challenges that facilities are struggling with today. It’s fun and rewarding to brainstorm with attendees about creative ways to make processes more streamlined and less paper-reliant.

I can’t remember a HIMSS where we didn’t take back something we learned from these great conversations and apply it to our development roadmap, professional services team strategy, and better ways to support our clients. This year was no exception. It was great to experience new synergies between Access and our strategic partners, and make further progress together in providing more effective solutions to our mutual customers.

We highlighted our exciting integration advances with Epic and Cerner, and teased Access booth visitors with the follow-on integration for other EHR systems that will be coming soon. With these integrated eForms offerings, Access is positioned to be the standard in integrated electronic forms and signatures solutions for hospitals that want easy yet powerful electronic forms functionality that’s tablet-enabled, while keeping their users focused and productive within their existing EHR workflow.

That’s the funny thing about eForms technology—when customers don’t even realize they’re using functionality from outside their EMR, that’s when we know we’ve done our job right.

Hearing the success stories of some of our Epic hospitals using integrated Access Passport—like UMC Nevada right there in our HIMSS host city of Las Vegas—really drove home the staff productivity and patient experience benefits we’re seeing from so many of our Passport customer organizations.

If HIMSS 2018 is any indication, the year ahead will be different, stronger, and even more fun for all of us at Access and for our valued customers and partners. I look forward to many milestones and successes between now and HIMSS 2019 in Orlando. Onward to Access 2.0!
