Helping Boomers Let Go of the Paper Security Blanket

By Beth Adams on Mar 29, 2018

I love Baby Boomers! Most likely because I am one! Folks born from 1946 – 1964 make up one of the most blessed generations in history. We grew up in an era when life was simpler, and problems fewer, or so it seemed. The reality is that tasks in the business world were actually harder and frankly, could suck the life right out of you!

Embracing Differences and Maximizing Strengths

By Beth Adams on Aug 14, 2017

My husband and I have been married for over 38 years. Not all 13,870+ days have been blissful. (Wow, that sounds like a reeeaaaally long time, huh?) Actually, we get along really well considering how many little things we don’t have in common. He likes country music, I like rock and roll; he likes vanilla and I’m all about chocolate; he likes drama and real-life movies and I’m more into comedy and sci-fi. It makes you wonder, what can we agree on?

Spending a Few Days in a Blog Cabin

By Beth Adams on May 17, 2017

This cabin clearly demonstrated that vision and gave me a hint of “what could be” in my home with a little effort.

What Do Fortunes, Hoarding and eForms Have in Common?

By Beth Adams on Feb 10, 2017

A few years ago, I cracked open my fortune cookie and found this message inside: “Consume less. Share more. Enjoy life.” I hung on to this tiny slip of paper as it really struck a chord with me. Not because I’m a big spender, but because I recognized my need to simplify and desire to get rid of excess clutter. It’s my goal to incorporate more characteristics of minimalism into my life and put into practice that fortune’s mantra of “less is more.”

Tips for a Smooth(er) Software Upgrade

By Beth Adams on Jan 5, 2017

A few months ago, we upgraded our accounting and database management (DBMS) software in the administration department. While this experience was not a lovely walk in the park (what software upgrade is?), it was a lot smoother than I had expected. The reason was that the company we went with had a professional services team that rocked!

Love Your Job?

By Beth Adams on Nov 22, 2016

We’ve all heard the love-your-job quotes, and if you Google that, 10,500,000 results pop up with pages and pages of images of inspirational messages. The one from Confucius is probably the original (at least the oldest): “Choose a job you LOVE, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” There’s also one that I particularly like: “Do what you love, you’ll be better at it.”
